Soft semifreddo with Chantilly cream and strawberry sponge cake with fresh strawberries.
This cake was created from memories of the sweet smells in my mother's kitchen. I see her turned away, mixing cream, grating lemon rind and tasting. So, I prepared a bowl. 'Wait!' I was worried that I'd overcooked it. 'Just let it cool'. I waited patiently and did something else. When I returned I had a surprise- a creamy foam of juicy strawberries.
