Over the course of the years, Romana has stood out for its original ingredients. The keys to our success are Pistachio Pesto, traditional Zabaione ( which is cooked slowly and then complemented by the addition of some 25-year-old marsala), graded Langhe’s Hazelnuts (the best quality hazelnuts) and lemon-flavoured Custard (which is prepared using the peel of organic lemons).
We have always striven to produce low-fat gelato. For this reason, our gelato contains only 7% fat coming from fresh, high-quality milk and cream. Moreover, we have recently put into production a delicious gelato made with organic milk, which is even more thick and creamy.
These are the keys to our success, and the factors that contribute to make our gelato unrivalled.
PRODUCTS
EXCELLENT PRODUCTS
Our gelato is made from a delicious blend of excellent IGP dairy products (PGI, Protected Geographical Indication) and DOC spirits (COD, Controlled Origin Denomination), and is able to suit even consumers’ most demanding requirements.
CUSTARDS
Our custards are made according to the traditional recipes of the founder of Romana, who originally cooked eggs together with other genuine raw materials. We still employ the same ingredients, that is to say pasteurized eggs, sugar, fresh cream and organic milk, in order to give consumers the possibility to taste high-quality, genuine and healthy products.
FRUIT
Our fruit gelato contains up to 32% of fresh fruit (percentages may vary according to the type of fruit).
Starting from this year, we have introduced the new HIGH-QUALITY fruit ice cream, which is sweetened with fructose only.
FIBRE-RICH YOGHURT
Fibres are an essential part of a healthy diet. Starting from this year, Romana has commercialized tasty yoghurts with high fibre content.
SICILIAN GRANITA
The traditional Sicilian Granita has always been a strong point of Italian food production. Apart from producing it, we also garnish it with juicy pieces of fresh fruit.
OUR CAKES
Our genuine cakes do not contain thickening agents whatsoever. Genuine raw materials and fresh cream are mixed together, what contributes to make our cakes extremely light and digestible. They are produced daily by every gelato shop belonging to our group.
